How did you grow as a Digital Artist during this project?

I can’t say that I grew much as a digital artist, but that’s not to say that I didn’t grow as a student. I learn about certain types of shots, framing, and the film related things, but most of that I already knew.

How can at least four of the following Physics concepts be applied to a space settlement?

Circular motion:

Circular motion is pretty self explanatory, its the motion of something one a circular path*. We used circular motion to create artificial gravity. Our ship has three of rings that spin, Circular Motion. The larger the circle he faster an object has to spin to match the same speed as a smaller circle.  

Centripetal Force:

By having massive rings that spin, our settlement creates gravity due to centripetal force. Imagine you have a bucket of water on a string, and you spin the bucket around in a circle. The water will stay inside the bucket, this is because of centripetal force. In the case of our space station the people are the water and the rings of the ship are the bucket.

Newtons First Law:

Newtons first law states that an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted on by an outside force. Because of Newtons first law, the Law of inertia, the rings of the ship will constantly spin without having to be pushed, besides the initial force starting the spin.

Which 21st century skills did you use most?

I used a lot of 21st century skills during this project. I was gone for a portion of the project so I have to be flexible and adapt to the situation when I got back. At the end of the project an incident happened which caused Mya’s computer to shut off right before the exhibition.  So I helped out by getting her hard-drive onto my computer and figuring out how to open their project on my computer. I can say that I definitely used problem solving when I did this.

What was your biggest area of growth?

My biggest area of growth for this project is refinement. since I was gone i didn't really put all of the effort that i could into the project. Even with this DP update I didn't put in enough effort the first time, so I'm going through it again and refining it.
